Mayer Brown LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that David R. Wiles and Timothy R. Ryan have joined the firm as partners in the Finance practice in the Charlotte office.  Both attorneys were previously partners at the law firm of Hunton & Williams in Charlotte and in-house lawyers at Bank of America.  A third attorney, S. William Walker, a senior finance associate at Hunton & Williams, will also join them at Mayer Brown as an associate.

Mr. Wiles and Mr. Ryan have substantial transaction and regulatory experience in structuring complex financing transactions and will focus their practice primarily on U.S. and cross-border syndicated and leveraged finance transactions.

Mr. Wiles joined his previous firm in 2007 after a 12-year career at Bank of America, where he served as Associate General Counsel in the Global Corporate and Investment Banking Group.  At Bank of America, his responsibilities included coverage of syndicated and leveraged finance, corporate debt products, loan trading and distressed debt, and problem loans and bankruptcies.  Prior to joining Bank of America, he was an associate at Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson and clerked for Hon. Richard L. Williams of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.  Mr. Wiles received a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina Honors College and graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School.

Mr. Ryan also joined Hunton & Williams last year, having previously been a partner at Mayer Brown where he began his legal career in 1996.  In 2003, he joined Bank of America as Assistant General Counsel, where he also worked for over two years in the Global Corporate and Investment Banking Group.  His primary responsibilities there included providing legal support and coverage for syndicated loan capital markets, leveraged acquisition finance, special situations loan syndicate and global portfolio management.  Mr. Ryan received a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from James Madison University and his law degree from The University of Virginia.
