2 July 2007 - International law firm Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP is advising the current owners of Windswept Holdings LLC on its sale to Bug Music Inc. The sale includes Windswept Holdings, its UK subsidiary Windswept Music (London) Limited, Trio Music Inc. and Quartet Music Inc. Trio and Quartet were formerly owned by the legendary song writing duo Leiber & Stoller and acquired by their current owners (then also represented by Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw) in 2003. The deal value remains confidential.

Established in 1988 as a music publishing company, Windswept is now one of the world's leading independent music publishers. It currently has deals with song writers writing for artists ranging from The Who to Beyoncé Knowles. In 2003 it became the administrator of the catalogues of Trio Music and Quartet Music. Included in the three companies extensive catalogues are well known songs such as 'The Twist', 'It's in His Kiss', 'What a WonderfulWorld', 'Crazy in Love' and 'Waterfalls'.

Bug Music Inc., established in 1975, is also a major tour de force within the music industry representing writers from the late Johnny Cash and Jools Holland to Will Smith. Its UK subsidiary is Bug Music Ltd.

Robert Allan, partner at Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw commented: "This is a fantastic deal to be involved in, playing as it does, on the many strengths of our experienced advisory team. What is particularly exciting about this deal is the historical significance of each of the three catalogues."

Robert Allan led the Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw team advising Windswept, assisted by Aisling McKeown. Loeb & Loeb LLP and Sidley Austin LLP also worked on the transaction. This deal has reunited the team which worked on the sale of a significant portion of Windswept's historical catalogue to EMI in 1999.

Latham & Watkins LLP is advising Bug Music.
