Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP is pleased to announce that Elana Hahn, a structured finance and capital markets lawyer specialising in securitisation, has joined the firm as a partner in its London Finance Group. She joins the team from the London office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP on 2 July 2007.

Elana advises banks and financial institutions as arrangers and represents originators and investment managers in English and international structured financings and public and private bond offerings. She advises on securitisation and other structured finance deals across a wide range of asset classes involving master trust, structured investment vehicle, secured loan, true sale, conduit financing and warehousing structures. Her practice has a particular focus on CLOs, CDOs and specialised funds-related structured finance transactions, whole-business securitisations and mortgage- and other real estate- based securitisations. Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw has acted on more that 45 cash-funded CDOs this year to date and is considered a "go-to" firm for cash and synthetic CDOs.

Prior to joining Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in London, Elana worked at Clifford Chance LLP. She received an A.B. from Princeton University in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs with a Certificate in Russian Studies and Russian Culture and a J.D. from the University of Toronto. She is admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in Ontario, Canada and is admitted to practice in England and Wales. In addition to English, she speaks both French and Russian. As a Russian speaker, Elana will undoubtedly be an asset to Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw's work in the emerging markets.

Elana Hahn commented: "I am very excited to be joining Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw as it continues to cement its presence as a market-leading practice. I look forward to the opportunities afforded by the firm's strong structured finance and corporate platforms."

Dominic Griffiths, co-head of the London Securitisation Group for Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Elana to a team which is enjoying exponential growth, allowing us yet further penetration into the market and again emphasising the quality and diversity of our practice and services we offer. Adding to the experience of CDO and derivatives expert, Edmund (Ed) Parker, who also joined the firm recently, Elana's track record working with a number of key clients adds significant strength to our team which has become one of the leading firms for CFOs and Structured Acquisition Finance. She will also work with Bruce Bloomingdale, our corporate securitisation expert, in expanding our whole business securitisation capabilities."

Paul Maher, London Senior Partner and Vice-Chairman of Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw, added: "The firm is fiercely ambitious and growing at a significant rate, particularly in Europe. Our undisputed trans-Atlantic strength in structured finance is a priority for the London office and Elana's appointment is a testament to that commitment and one of a series of lateral hires for the group."

In addition to Elana's recent appointment, Ed Parker just published a book titled 'Credit Derivatives' through GBP Law. Bruce Bloomingdale co-heads the group with Dominic Griffiths. Partner Kevin Hawken has over 20 years experience of providing cutting-edge advice to clients and the team has considerable additional support from partner, Drew Salvest, who is widely recognised in the market for his work on innovative emerging market securitisation. There are now over 40 European securitisation lawyers at the firm.
