Kirsten Hunt is a dual qualified senior associate in the Tax practice of the London office, with more than 10 years of post-qualification tax experience. Kirsten has broad experience in UK corporation tax, VAT and real estate taxes with a particular focus on transactional and advisory work. His experience includes the tax aspects of the sale and purchase of companies and businesses, internal group re-organisations, simplifications and restructuring. Kirsten has extensive experience in the banking and finance sector on the UK tax aspects in relation to raising capital and debt, structured finance products, securitisations and real estate transactions.

  • Oaktree Capital Management: Advised the sponsor on the leveraged purchase and subsequent securitisation of a portfolio of UK residential mortgage loans.*
  • Private equity acquisition: Advised a private equity firm on the multi-jurisdiction acquisition of a major manufacturing business, which supplies essential parts to the oil and gas sector.*
  • Aprirose: Advised on its acquisition of the QHotels portfolio from Bain Capital and Canyon Partners, including negotiating the tax cover on the warranty and indemnity insurance.*
  • Caudwell Properties (109) Ltd: Advised on the purchase of office premises at 38 Park Street, Mayfair.*
  • KPS Capital Partners: Advised the client as transaction counsel on its acquisition from Brunswick Corporation of Life Fitness.*
  • Qatar Aviation Lease Company: Advised on secured Loan from QALC to JetsuiteX in order to finance the acquisition of up to 100 Embraer aircraft to be operated by JetsuiteX, a company in which QALC has a shareholding.*
  • Barclays Bank: Advised on multiple securitisation transactions in relation to residential mortgage-back security, commercial mortgage-backed security, corporate debt and CBILs.*
  • Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners: Advised Stonepeak on its €1.1 billion acquisition of the euNetworks, owner of the largest network of fibre-optic cables in European cities. Advice included tax advice in relation to the structure and drafting of the documentation.*
  • Warranty and indemnity insurance providers: Regularly advised on the warranty and indemnity insurance policy in respect of the acquisition of multinational targets.*
