Megan Hall is a senior associate in Mayer Brown’s Tax Transactions & Consulting practice. Megan advises multinationals on the tax aspects of corporate acquisitions, mergers, internal restructurings and business formations. She has designed plans and led teams to complete international restructurings in advance of a spin-off of a division and initial public offering. She is experienced in post-transaction integration and reporting including the implementation of global transfer pricing strategies.
Megan advises domestic, foreign and multinational employers in connection with tax related immigration issues unique to global workforces. She provides cross-border tax planning related to new hires, secondment arrangements and displaced workers. She advises on employer withholding obligations, employee exemptions from withholding due to visa status and has efficiently resolved employer withholding tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service.
Megan is tax counsel to domestic and international tax-exempt organizations advising on the tax aspects of international grant-making, fundraising, executive compensation and unrelated business income.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Megan served as law clerk to The Honorable Marvin J. Garbis, United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
