Mayer Brown and T&C transactions win "Deal of the Year" at IJGlobal Awards 2019

Mayer Brown and Tauil & Chequer (T&C) in association with Mayer Brown advised on two transactions named “Deal of the Year” by IJGlobal at its Americas Awards 2019. The awards recognize excellence and innovation in the region’s infrastructure and energy sectors during the past year.

The winning transactions are:

TAG Pipeline Acquisition: Latin America M&A Deal of the Year
T&C represented Le Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), GDF International and Engie Brasil Energia S.A. in the acquisition of a 90 percent shareholding stake in Transportadora Associada de Gás S.A. from Petrobras, with a final and binding offer of $8.6 billion. T&C played a prominent role in this groundbreaking transaction in a challenging regulatory environment by advising CDPQ and Engie in corporate, regulatory, tax, compliance, litigation, real estate, labor and antitrust aspects.

CRC Transmission Line: Latin America Transmission Deal of the Year
Mayer Brown advised CRC Transmisión SpA on the financing of a portfolio of transmission projects in Chile totaling more than 550km of transmission lines and 8 substations. The portfolio is the first of its kind construction-risk, private placement transaction for the T-Line sector in Latin America. This ground-breaking transaction is another milestone in the continued success of project sponsor Celeo Redes and in Mayer Brown’s market-leading Latin American project bonds practice.
