Mayer Brown advised on a transaction that was named “M&A Deal of the Year” in the $75 million to $100 million category at the 2018 M&A Advisor Awards.

The winning transaction was the acquisition of Fenix Parts, Inc. (Fenix Parts), a recycler and reseller of original equipment manufacturer automotive products, by Stellex Capital Management LP (Stellex). With the assumption of more than $40 million in operating and long-term liabilities, including $33 million of indebtedness, a Stellex-controlled affiliate acquired the company for 40 cents per share in cash. Mayer Brown represented a special committee of the board of directors of Fenix Parts. The Mayer Brown team was led by Corporate & Securities partners Edward Best and William Kucera (both Chicago).
