California Bar Webinar: "TransAtlantic Data Transfer Under the New US-EU Privacy Shield"
After more than two years of negotiations, the European Commission and the US Government recently announced a new data flow framework to replace the “Safe Harbor” program. The Privacy Shield Framework was designed to provide companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a mechanism to comply with EU data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union to the United States. Government regulators with the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Commerce will discuss the key elements of the Privacy Shield, the process of approval, and program oversight and enforcement. Legal counsel representing companies in the US and Europe will discuss how participating companies will comply with the new framework.
