US Federal Trade Commission Issues Report on Protecting Consumer Privacy

On March 26, 2012, the US Federal Trade Commission released a report titled “Protecting Consumer Privacy in an Era of Rapid Change: Recommendations for Businesses and Policy Makers.” The report articulates best practices for companies that collect and use consumer data, makes recommendations for legislation, and specifies five key areas in which the FTC will focus its attention.
