São Paulo – Tauil & Chequer Advogados, in association with Mayer Brown LLP, is strengthening its Employment & Benefits practice with the arrival of Eduardo Soto as a partner in São Paulo. Previously, Mr. Soto was a partner at Mattos Muriel Kestener Advogados.

“We’ve been investing in the employment and benefits area as part of our growth strategy,” said Alexandre Chequer, managing partner of Tauil & Chequer Advogados. “The addition of Eduardo, along with the recent hire of senior counsel Luiz Paulo Pieruccetti in November, is aligned with our goal of strengthening the practice.”

“The recent hires make the team more diversified and enhance our capabilities,” affirmed Maurício Tanabe, the leader of the Employment & Benefits practice. “Eduardo’s diverse experience in labor matters will bring great value to our team.”

Mr. Soto has in-depth experience in employment and labor law, including litigation, mergers and acquisitions, business transfers, compensation plans, and matters involving senior managers and directors’ issues. He also has an impressive background in collective disputes and all aspects of negotiation with employees, unions and executives.

“I’m pleased to join this highly respected law firm and look forward to expanding our Employment & Benefits practice,” said Mr. Soto.

Prior to joining Mattos Muriel Kestener Advogados, he held positions in Veirano Advogados and Demarest Advogados. Mr. Soto is a member of the Brazilian, Portuguese, and Spanish bar associations, and he is the president of the Legal Committee of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo.
