Mayer Brown partner Richard Campbell receives “Court of Honor” award from Chicago Volunteer Legal Services

28 April 2017

Mayer Brown announced that Chicago-based Wealth Management partner Richard Campbell received the “Court of Honor” award from Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS). The award recognizes those in the legal community who support pro bono legal services and help make the legal system accessible to all.

This year, Mr. Campbell was recognized for creating the Probate Court Assistance Program, in which pro bono practitioners represent low-income clients in decedent’s estate cases. In addition to creating and coordinating the program with the court and CVLS, he recruited colleagues and friends to take cases pro bono.

Mr. Campbell focuses his practice at Mayer Brown on estate planning for high-net-worth clients, probate and trust administration law, and contested estate and trust matters. He also emphasizes representation of not-for-profit organizations and private foundations, and represents closely held businesses. Mr. Campbell is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

CVLS is an organization of over 2,300 volunteer attorneys who donate free legal services to thousands of low-income Chicagoans. With 24 legal clinics across the Chicago area, hosted evenings and weekends at community organizations and churches, where clients can talk with lawyers about legal problems, CVLS works to ensure that everyone has access to justice.
