Mayer Brown partner Rich Spehr named a “Distinguished Leader” by New York Law Journal

Mayer Brown announced today that Rich Spehr, the partner-in-charge of the firm’s New York office, was named a New York Law Journal (NYLJ) 2017 “Distinguished Leader.” The award recognizes extraordinary lawyers in leadership roles who achieved impressive results in the past year.

In a profile, NYLJ highlighted Mr. Spehr’s achievements in his leadership role, including designing and relocating the 200-lawyer New York office to a new space, recruiting numerous talented lateral partners and leading a significant trial win on behalf of one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world.

In addition to directing the New York office, Mr. Spehr is a member of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. He is an experienced trial lawyer whose practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including federal and state securities laws, internal investigations, SEC investigations, DOJ investigations, international arbitration, derivatives, banking, financial services and intellectual property litigation.
