Mayer Brown advising global aerospace group on regulatory and compliance issues

6 May 2013

Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, has been retained to act as outside common counsel to the International Aerospace Environment Group (IAEG), a worldwide group of aerospace companies including Boeing, EADS and Airbus, Bombardier, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, GE Aviation, Northrop Grumman, Rolls Royce, SAFRAN, UTC and Zodiac Aerospace as founding members. Mayer Brown will provide US and EU regulatory, antitrust, export control and intellectual property advice to the IAEG on an ongoing basis.

IAEG’s objectives are: to help develop an understanding of environmental requirements across the supply chain; to promote standardized means for aerospace companies to address compliance with complex regulations such as the European Community’s REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances) regulations; and to serve as a forum for dialog on aerospace industry options for implementing these complex environmental requirements.

The five-office, four-practice Mayer Brown team is led by Brussels Government & Global Trade partner Jean-Philippe Montfort and includes: Government & Global Trade – partners Simeon Kriesberg (Washington DC) and Paulette Vander Schueren (Brussels); Intellectual Property – partners Joe Mahoney (Chicago) and Sarah Byrt (London); Antitrust & Competition –partner Robert Klotz (Brussels); and Litigation & Dispute Resolution – partner Chris Kelly (Palo Alto).
