Regulatory Developments and the Effect on Structured Finance in Europe

The regulatory capital rules for US banking organizations have seen significant development in recent months. These include amendments to the Commodity Exchange Act by Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act as well as the issuance of three separate notices of proposed rulemaking, one final rule and new swap definitions.

On September 13, 2012, please join Mayer Brown attorneys Carol Hitselberger, Stuart Litwin and Jeremiah Wagner as they discuss the comprehensive revision of the US regulatory capital rules and the impact on EU securitizers. Topics to be discussed include:

  • The Volcker Rule's cross-border application to securitization vehicles
  • The proposed rulemakings and their effect on the "big picture"
  • Disclosure and other securities law issues that are impacting EU deals
  • The status of risk retention and Regulation AB 2

Mayer Brown's Global Financial Markets Initiative helps clients deal with the legal and business challenges resulting from the ongoing turbulence in worldwide financial markets. By mobilizing the firm's global resources from multiple practices and offices, the Initiative provides clients with knowledgeable and timely counsel on a broad spectrum of their legal needs.
