Public Procurement Seminar

Michael Bowsher QC of Monkton Chambers and Julian Ellison, a partner in Mayer Brown’s Brussels office, hosted a presentation in London on Tuesday 13 May 2014 regarding the new public procurement regime, adopted recently by the EU.

Companies with material sales of products or services to government bodies, including State corporations and corporations operating under government licence such as power companies, will be making those sales subject to the public procurement rules. As a result, many companies will be affected by the complete revision of the procurement rules.

Michael Bowsher QC is a leading public procurement barrister, ranked as a "star individual" by Chambers and Partners, and as a "real authority on procurement law" by Legal 500. Michael has recently been involved in several high profile public procurement cases including Alstom Transport v Eurostar International and acted for the Department for Transport over the West Coast Main Line franchise dispute. He is renowned for his work representing and advising clients regarding claims for damages and injunctions in this field.
