Mayer Brown Article

Lawyers from Mayer Brown’s Chicago office, working in conjunction with Northwestern Law School’s Center for International Human Rights, helped edit the first edition of the Annotated Cambodian Code of Criminal Procedure. The book combines articles from the recently enacted Code of Criminal Procedure with precedent from rulings of the special court trying former Khmer Rouge members and comparable articles in other jurisdictions. The book is part of efforts by the tribunal to leave a legacy for the Cambodian court system. The book’s publication was celebrated at a March 25, 2014 reception, at which the British Ambassador to Cambodia acknowledged Mayer Brown’s role in completing the book.

The project was supervised by Intellectual Property partner Michael Adams, facilitated by Pro Bono Director Marc Kadish and undertaken by Intellectual Property associates Chris Mackey, Patrick Tierney and Kristine Young and Litigation & Dispute Resolution associate Sarah Reynolds. Together, the team devoted 323 hours to the project
