Overview of the Re-Proposed Credit Risk Retention for Securitizations

Following the relatively controversial reception received by their original proposed rules (reflected in the over 10,000 comment letters received), the SEC and various banking and ousing regulators have re-proposed the credit risk retention rules that generally require securitization sponsors to retain a minimum portion of the credit risk in the assets that they securitize.
