23 February 2016
London - Mayer Brown has appointed Kieron Dwyer as a new Finance partner in London. Kieron will focus on advising lenders and borrowers on project finance, energy and infrastructure transactions.

Most recently, Kieron was a partner and head of international energy and natural resources at Wragge Lawrence Graham. He also established the energy and infrastructure finance practice at legacy firm Wragge & Co. Kieron is recognised for his expertise in international project finance, acquisition finance and reserve-based lending transactions, particularly those in the electricity and upstream oil and gas sectors. He acts for banks, multilateral lenders, project companies and sponsors on major energy and infrastructure finance transactions across Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Earlier in his career Kieron spent 10 years at Clifford Chance, where he built up considerable international experience. Whilst there he worked in the firm’s Tokyo office for three years.

Commenting on the appointment, Mayer Brown’s senior partner Sean Connolly said: "Kieron is a great addition to the London project finance team. He has a wealth of international experience, is highly commercial and his skills will enable us to capitalise on the growth that we are seeing in this area, particularly across Africa and other emerging markets."

Dominic Griffiths, co-head of the global Finance practice at Mayer Brown added: ‘We are seeing an increasing appetite from our clients for structured finance expertise in the energy market and Kieron’s in-depth experience in this sector and project finance in Europe, Africa and the Middle East will further boost our global offering in this area."

Kieron Dwyer said: “Mayer Brown has an impressive reputation in project finance and its global capabilities provide an excellent platform for my practice. I look forward to working with the rest of the team to help clients capitalise on opportunities for energy and infrastructure investment.”

Kieron joins a multi-disciplinary, global team that represents clients across a range of sectors including power, oil and gas, renewables, mining and industrial facilities.
