26 September 2018
London — Mayer Brown has been recognized as this year’s European Law Firm of the Year – Transactions winner at GlobalCapital’s annual Global Derivatives Awards. The awards, held on 25 September in London, honor the firms, services and products that strengthen, grow and change global derivatives markets for the better. Mayer Brown was also nominated for Global Law Firm of the Year and European Law Firm of the Year in the regulatory category.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Mayer Brown's derivatives team has won a Global Derivatives Award, having been named European Law Firm of the Year – transactions in 2017, European Law Firm of the Year — regulatory in 2016, and European Law Firm of the Year in 2015. It also follows the firm’s success at the Global Capital Americas Derivatives Awards 2018 earlier this year, where the firm was named Americas Law Firm of the Year.

Commenting on the win, Edmund Parker, global head of the Derivatives & Structured Products practice, said: “We are deeply grateful that our team has been recognized for a fourth consecutive year in both Europe and the Americas for our client service in the most complex derivatives transactions.”

The winners of the Global Derivatives Awards 2018 were selected by GlobalCapital’s editors according to the nominees’ innovations in product and service, commitments to new markets, improvements in efficiency, liquidity and market stability, as well as client guidance.
