Mayer Brown appoints Jay Doraisamy as co-head of Pensions practice in London

London — Jay Doraisamy has been appointed as co-head of the London Pensions practice at Mayer Brown. She will work alongside Ian Wright, the existing head of the Pensions practice, who succeeded Philippa James in January 2017 following her retirement after 29 years at the firm.

Jay, a partner with more than 22 years of experience in pensions advisory work, joined Mayer Brown in November 2016 from Dentons and was previously head of the pensions practice at Eversheds. Jay advises trustees and the employers of complex pension arrangements funding, benefit redesign projects, scheme closures and amendments, and defined benefit/contribution schemes.

Her co-head Ian is an experienced pensions partner who has been at Mayer Brown for 19 years having joined as a trainee in 1998. Ian advises trustees, employers and pension providers on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters, including bespoke integrated investment, funding and covenant solutions. He is also a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) and frequently works with Government departments on the development of new pensions legislation.
