Mayer Brown advises Nestlé S.A. on $2.3B acquisition of Atrium Innovations

Mayer Brown announced today that it advised Nestlé S.A. on its agreement to acquire privately-held Atrium Innovations, a Montreal-based global leader in nutritional health products, from a group of investors led by Permira Funds for $2.3 billion.

The transaction supports Nestlé’s pursuit of growth opportunities in consumer healthcare to complement the company’s focus on its high-growth food and beverage categories. Upon closing, Atrium will become part of Nestlé Health Science.

The Mayer Brown team was led by New York-based Corporate & Securities partners David Carpenter and John Boelter and included lawyers from the firm’s Antitrust & Competition, Corporate & Securities, Environmental, Intellectual Property and Tax Transactions & Consulting practices in Beijing, Brussels, Chicago, Düsseldorf, New York and Washington DC.
