Mayer Brown announced today that Marjorie Harris Loeb has joined the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice as a partner in Chicago.

Ms. Loeb is a seasoned general counsel, corporate finance and securities lawyer with substantial corporate transaction and commercial experience both as a member of a law firm and as in-house counsel to global manufacturing, publicly traded companies. She is well-versed at change management and providing strategic advice to boards of directors and top management in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, capital raising and corporate restructuring initiatives for global manufacturing companies. In her previous position as senior vice president and general counsel, she helped complete the integration of Chrysler into the Fiat family of companies.

“With her extensive and impressive experience in private practice and as a general counsel, Margie brings a thorough understanding of the legal and business challenges faced by our clients every day,” said Rebecca Eisner, the partner-in-charge of Mayer Brown’s Chicago office. “In addition to her experience managing through significant corporate events and transactions, our clients and colleagues alike will benefit from her commercial contracting experience – particularly her ability to adapt relationships among manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and end-user customers as new and disruptive technology is incorporated into consumer products. We are delighted to welcome her to Mayer Brown.”

“Mayer Brown, with its global reach and excellent reputation in the automobile industry, is the perfect platform for my return to private practice,” said Ms. Loeb. “The firm’s Business & Technology Sourcing practice is internationally recognized for its representation of end-users of critical business technology design, development and service agreements that need to operate on a global level, building relationships that last beyond the execution of the contract. I look forward to applying my corporate and commercial contracting experience to the benefit of Mayer Brown’s clients, including in addressing the legal and business challenges in bringing artificial intelligence and connectivity to consumer products.”

Before her tenure at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ms. Loeb was an assistant general counsel at Delphi Corporation. Previously, she was in private practice. Ms. Loeb earned a JD from Harvard Law School after working at McKinsey & Company following her graduation from Wellesley College.
