Managing Customs Audit and ASB Investigation in China

Mayer Brown Consulting is pleased to invite you to our breakfast seminar “Managing Customs Audit and ASB Investigation in China”, which will be held on Tuesday, 24 March 2015 at The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai.

China Customs is increasingly examining the authenticity and legality of import and export activities through post-clearance audit and investigation by the Customs Audit Division and Anti-Smuggling Bureau (ASB). Since 1 December 2014, China Customs has published customs penalties imposed against individual companies. Companies have to spend a large amount of valuable management resources and time to handle these audits and investigations. Failing to successfully address them, companies can encounter severe financial and reputation issues.

You are invited to our seminar at which you can learn further about the strategic and tactical approaches companies need to take to deal with disputes with Customs during an audit or investigation. The seminar will look at:

  • Legal exposures arising from Customs audit and investigations
  • Which industries and shipments are potential Customs/investigation targets and why
  • What are the frequently identified issues
  • Factors contributing to the result
  • How to handle the process internally and externally
  • Case Studies
