Reform on Foreign Investment Law in China: How far has it gone?

Although we are only five months into 2015, China has witnessed a series of legislative changes that have been launched to relax the regulatory regime on foreign investment in the country. These include a Draft Foreign Investment Law, a revised Foreign Investment Industrial Catalogue and a new set of regulations on free trade zones. What major impact have these regulations had on foreign investors? Will it overhaul the whole landscape of foreign investment in China?

In this breakfast seminar, Mayer Brown JSM Shanghai partner Betty Tam will examine what changes these new regulations have brought to foreign investors and the likely developments going forward.

The seminar will look at:

  • The Draft Foreign Investment Law
  • The 2015 version of Foreign Investment Industrial Catalogue
  • Regulations on the free trade zones in Shanghai, Fujian, Guangdong and Tianjin
