30 April 2012
Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that Kirk Tucker has joined the firm in Houston as a partner in the Corporate & Securities practice. Previously, he was a partner with Thompson & Knight in Houston.

“Kirk has deep experience and a proven record of success in handling a wide range of corporate and securities matters in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, and corporate governance, particularly in working with domestic and international upstream oil and gas companies,” said Neil Wasserstrom, Partner-in-Charge of Mayer Brown’s Houston office. “Kirk’s arrival further expands Mayer Brown’s Corporate & Securities offerings within the energy industry, reinforcing the firm’s ability to serve client needs in Houston and throughout our global network.”

Mr. Tucker concentrates his practice on a broad range of corporate and securities matters, with a particular focus on the upstream oil and gas sector. He represents clients on mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of businesses; venture capital and subsequent financings; public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities; and SEC reporting, corporate governance, and compliance with securities laws and exchange rules.

“Mayer Brown’s strong global platform perfectly complements my extensive experience in providing corporate and securities-related counsel to domestic and international companies in the upstream oil and gas arena,” said Mr. Tucker. “I am eager to take advantage of the firm’s outstanding resources to benefit current and future clients, and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued growth in the Houston office and around the world.”

Mr. Tucker received his JD from University of Houston Law Center and earned a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
