Mayer Brown advises on two winning transactions recognized by Global M&A Network’s 2017 M&A Atlas Awards

Mayer Brown advised on two transactions named “Deals of the Year” by Global M&A Network in its 2017 Global Major Markets M&A Atlas Awards series, which honors excellence singularly for executing growth-generating, transformational transactions valued above a billion dollars from all corners of the globe. The winning transactions are:

TransCanada: Canada Deal of the Year
Mayer Brown represented TransCanada Corporation in the acquisition of Columbia Pipeline Group, Inc., a Houston-based company that owns, operates and develops a network of interstate natural gas pipelines extending from New York to the Gulf of Mexico, as well as storage and related midstream assets. Including the assumption of debt, the value of the transaction was approximately $13 billion. The Mayer Brown team was led by Chicago-based Corporate & Securities partners Marc Sperber, Andrew Noreuil and Mike Hermsen.

Altice: Global Telecom Deal of the Year
Mayer Brown advised Altice N.V., a multinational cable and telecommunications company, on its acquisition of Cablevision Systems Corporation for approximately $17.7 billion. The Mayer Brown team was led by Tax Transactions & Consulting partners Jason Bazar (New York) and Laurent Borey (Paris).
