Profiles in Diversity Journal names two Mayer Brown partners “Women Worth Watching”

25 August 2015

Mayer Brown announced that Corporate & Securities partner Rebecca S. Eisner and Litigation & Dispute Resolution partner Lori E. Lightfoot (both Chicago) were named “Women Worth Watching 2015” by Profiles in Diversity Journal. This annual recognition honors 100 women who “represent diversity within their spheres of influence” and are “using their talents and influence to change our workplaces and our world” and “blazing a trail for others to follow,” the publication said. Honorees were nominated by colleagues and mentors.

Rebecca S. Eisner: Ms. Eisner has held several leadership roles at Mayer Brown. She currently serves as Partner-in-Charge of Mayer Brown’s Chicago office, and she has co-led Mayer Brown’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy group for the past seven years. In addition, she formerly served on the firm’s global partnership board. “I have been fortunate to have some great mentors who encouraged me to accept leadership roles,” Ms. Eisner told Profiles in Diversity Journal. “It has been immensely satisfying to change [people’s] views on what is possible [for a woman in the legal profession],” she added. Lori E. Lightfoot: With a career that has included serving the city of Chicago in various leadership roles, currently co-leading Mayer Brown’s Commercial Litigation action group and also serving as the President of the Chicago Police Board, Ms. Lightfoot told the publication that she considers “determination, perseverance and leading by example” essential qualities for a leader. And as a leader in the legal profession, Ms. Lightfoot said, “I think it is really important to engage [the younger lawyers] you lead so that they feel a stake in the outcome of the work that we do for clients.” (View article.)
