Doing Business in a Connected World: The Impact of Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, and Social Media

Please join us for our sixth annual conference on legal issues facing businesses in today’s digital economy. This year’s program will feature insights from Mayer Brown Global Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice leader Rajesh De, who recently served as General Counsel for the US National Security Agency (2012–2015). We will address key issues raised by cybersecurity, data privacy, and social media including:

  • Cybersecurity and the Board of Directors
  • Cross-Border Data Transfers
  • Preparing for and Responding to a Cybersecurity Incident
  • Social Media, Privacy, and Employment
  • Class Action Trends
  • Contracting for Cybersecurity and Privacy
  • Legal Ethics in a Connected World

We hope you can join us for a conversation on managing cyber risk at the enterprise level. Mayer Brown partner Raj De and Stroz Friedberg founder and Executive Chairman Ed Stroz will discuss topics including creating coordinated strategies for addressing cyber risks and engaging corporate boards on the broad array of cybersecurity issues.

Raj De, a partner in Mayer Brown's Washington DC office, focuses his practice on cutting-edge legal and policy issues at the nexus of technology, national security, law enforcement and privacy, including strategic cybersecurity counseling and related representation. Raj advises companies as they anticipate threats, assists them as they comply with data security and privacy requirements, and represents them as they address cyber vulnerabilities and breaches, as well as associated regulatory, litigation and reputational consequences. Raj returned to Mayer Brown in 2015 after serving as General Counsel at the United States National Security Agency.

Ed Stroz is the founder and Executive Chairman of Stroz Friedberg, a global leader in investigations, intelligence and risk management. Ed oversees the firm’s growth and client development, while ensuring the maintenance of its distinctive culture. He also provides hands on strategic consulting in investigations, intelligence and due diligence, plus cyber and physical security. Before starting the firm, Ed was a Special Agent with the FBI where he formed their computer crime squad in New York. Ed sits on the Board of Directors of the Crime Commission of New York City, an independent non-profit organization focused on criminal justice and public safety policies and practices, and is a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. He also serves on the New York State Courts System E-Discovery Working Group, established to provide ongoing support and expertise to the New York State Judiciary in the area of e-discovery.
