Mayer Brown partner David Simon named a 2017 “Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Trailblazer” by The National Law Journal

Mayer Brown announced that Cybersecurity & Data Privacy partner David Simon (Washington DC) has been named to The National Law Journal’s (NLJ) 2017 list of “Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Trailblazers,” which recognizes 25 people who have “helped make a difference in the fight against criminal cyber activity and towards adding much needed layers of data security in an increasingly digital world of commerce.” The NLJ noted that the winners show “a deep passion and perseverance in pursuit of their mission, having achieved remarkable successes along the way.”

The NLJ highlighted Mr. Simon’s vast cybersecurity and privacy experience in both the public and private sectors. At Mayer Brown, he advises companies on “cutting-edge cybersecurity, intelligence and national security matters affecting victims of state-sponsored cyberattacks,” he told the publication. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Simon served in the US Department of Defense as a special counsel, where he worked on legal issues related to the worldwide operations of US armed forces, involving cyber policy, plans and operations. In addition, Mr. Simon is an adjunct fellow in Cybersecurity and International Law at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a member of the Advisory Group to the United National Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate.
