Committee on Diversity & Inclusion

Mayer Brown's diversity and inclusion efforts are directed by the Committee on Diversity & Inclusion. The committee includes the chairman and an additional member of Mayer Brown’s Management Committee, our managing partner, the co-chairman of the Committee on Professional Advancement, partners from all US offices, including the partner responsible for recruiting in each office, the Global Chief Human Resources Officer and the firm’s full-time US Director of Diversity & Inclusion.

The committee's objective is to design, implement, and monitor the success of our diversity initiatives. Committee members:

  • Plan our extensive outreach programs
  • Promote lawyer participation in diversity panels and symposia
  • Oversee diversity association sponsorships and giving
  • Mentor diverse associates
  • Implement measures for the recruitment, retention and promotion of diverse candidates

The group meets annually in person, holds quarterly conference calls to discuss diversity issues and initiatives, and makes frank and thorough reports to our leaders in senior management. Sub-committees from the Firm's various offices meet regularly and report back to the committee at large during their calls.

"As a firm, Mayer Brown is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment that affords all of our lawyers and employees an equal opportunity to succeed and perform at the highest level. Our Committee on Diversity & Inclusion is the main engine through which we drive our efforts to achieve this goal."

- Jeremiah DeBerry, Director of Diversity & Inclusion – US
