The authors explain how the new rules issued by the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China offer a clarification of the scope of criminal sanctions for breaches involving personal information in the form of Interpretations on Several Issues concerning the Application of Law in the Handling of Criminal Cases Involving Infringement of Citizens' Personal Information.
