China: Merger Control

10 March 2014
The Asia-Pacific Antitrust Review 2014

The last 12 months were a watershed in the enforcement of China’s competition laws. This was particularly the case with the public and private enforcement of the behavioural rules in the Anti-Monopoly Law (AML). The enforcement of China’s merger control regime has also seen some key developments. In 2013, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) published four conditional clearance decisions: Glencore/Xstrata, Marubeni/Gavilon, Baxter/Gambro and MediaTek/MStar.
