Mayer Brown partner Charles E. Harris, II named a 2015 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow

6 February 2015

Mayer Brown Litigation & Dispute Resolution partner Charles E. Harris, II (Chicago) has been selected for the 2015 Fellows Program of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), a national organization of more than 220 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a diverse legal profession.

The LCLD Fellows Program was created to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession. According to LCLD President Robert J. Grey, Jr., the year-long program offers participants “an extraordinarily rich year of relationship-building, virtual and in-person training, peer-group projects and extensive contact with LCLD’s top leadership.” The LCLD Fellows Program has trained more than 600 mid-career attorneys since 2011.

“I look forward to using the leadership and relationship skills I’ll strengthen as a fellow to continue fostering diversity in the legal profession,” said Mr. Harris.

“This is a singular honor for Charles,” said Jeremiah DeBerry, Mayer Brown’s Director of Diversity & Inclusion. “He joins a select group of experienced attorneys from diverse backgrounds who have been recognized for their leadership potential.”

At Mayer Brown, Mr. Harris focuses his practice on complex litigation, such as class actions, information security-related disputes, and First Amendment actions alleging defamation and other privacy torts. He also advises on domestic and international arbitrations concerning a variety of subject matters. Additionally, as a licensed patent attorney, Mr. Harris represents clients in intellectual property disputes.
