Training and Development – A Supportive Learning Environment

At Mayer Brown International LLP we are keen to build on existing talents and experience, for the benefit of both the business and the individual. We have a comprehensive annual rolling programme for all non-legal staff, including management development for senior support staff. In addition to these programmes, we may also provide some support for study towards professional qualifications, if relevant to your career development and the needs of the business. Our standard suite of training and development initiatives include:

  • Annual rolling programme of skills development courses;
  • IT training for all new joiners;
  • Continuous IT training throughout employment;
  • Diversity and inclusion;
  • Annual appraisals (including support for both appraiser and appraisee);
  • A Junior Management Programme for junior support managers;
  • An Essential Leadership Development Programme for senior support managers; and
  • A Secretarial Co-ordinator Development Programme.

Additional support provided by the central training and development team also includes: legal technical awareness sessions and in-house coaching on request. Other initiatives offering support and development from across the firm include:

  • "Buddy" systems for new joiners
  • Co-ordinating secretaries to monitor workload
  • Dedicated practice group HR Managers.
