Avoiding the cross border maelstrom of investigation and enforcement

Please join us for our seminar on 21 September 2016 where Mayer Brown partners Marc Cohen, Guy Wilkes, Alexander Behrens and Susanne Harris will examine recent developments in cross border investigations and enforcement across three continents.

The complexities of the global financial services industry and its international regulatory environment mean that regulatory investigations and attendant enforcement proceedings create unavoidable cross border challenges. If not properly handled, local difficulties can escalate into international issues and defending in one jurisdiction can cause unintended consequences in another.

Our speakers from around the globe will examine recent developments in international investigations and enforcement in the US, Europe and Asia, highlight traps for the unwary, and anticipate future trends. Topics we will cover include complex issues of privilege, law enforcement attitudes to internal investigations, monitorships and the many challenges financial institutions face when handling international parallel investigations and litigation.

Registration 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Presentation: 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
