In the first several months of his term, US President Donald J. Trump and his administration have taken a number of steps to further his campaign promise to tighten US border security. These efforts have included a travel ban that remains enjoined by the courts as well as so-called “extreme vetting” measures designed to heighten scrutiny of US visa applicants and inbound travelers.
