Mayer Brown makes Judicial Conference of the District of Columbia Circuit's list of pro bono leaders

28 April 2017

Mayer Brown was recognized by the Judicial Conference of the District of Columbia Circuit as a pro bono leader in 2016 at the annual 40 at 50 Judicial Pro Bono Recognition Breakfast. The event honored law firms in Washington DC in which at least 40 percent of all lawyers dedicated 50 or more hours in 2016 to providing free legal representation to individuals with limited financial resources or to charitable organizations.

The DC Circuit Judicial Conference Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services sponsored the annual breakfast event to promote the Judicial Conference’s goal that each lawyer contributes at least 50 pro bono hours per year. Delivering remarks at the recognition breakfast were Chief Judge Merrick Garland, Chief Judge Beryl Howell, and president of the Legal Services Corporation and chair of the DC Circuit Judicial Conference Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services Jim Sandman. Law firms with 25 or more lawyers in Washington DC were eligible for this recognition.

Mayer Brown participates in pro bono and community service efforts around the world, recognizing this critical obligation of the legal profession.
