2nd Investment Forum: Investing in Innovation in Central Europe

Mayer Brown and the Embassies of eleven Central European countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, arranged a forum on investing in innovation in Central Europe.

The speakers included ministers, trade agency chiefs, investors, local entrepreneurs as well as other experts with considerable experience of investing in Central Europe. The event included the following four panels (please see the full agenda below).

  • Session 1: Investing in infrastructure projects in Central Europe – The panel will discuss the current and future opportunities in the area of large infrastructure projects in Central Europe.
  • Sessions 2 and 3: Opportunities for cooperation with companies in Central Europe – Sessions 2 and 3 will explore the various possibilities for collaboration between investors and Central European companies, as well as between EU and non-EU companies and investors.
    These two sessions will run concurrently, and will focus on innovative technologies.
    • Session 2 – interactive technologies, self-driving technologies, power solutions
    • Session 3 – business networking platforms, blockchain technologies, ICO campaigns, money services, innovation hubs 
  • Session 4: Support for foreign investors in Central Europe – The panel will discuss the legal, institutional and economic incentives to invest in the CE region, as well as the role of policy making and trade & investment agencies.
