Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw advise EMI on deal with Robbie Williams

15 October 2002 - Robbie Williams recently signed one of the UK's biggest record deals with music industry giant EMI Recorded Music ("EMI"). Ian Hanson (Executive Vice-President, Business Affairs and Commercial Marketing), and Chris Ancliff (Senior Vice-President, Legal Affairs and Associate General Counsel) led the team from EMI which was supported by a Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw team lead by Partner Richard Page. The highly innovative agreement sees EMI working closely with Robbie in his non-recording activities including touring, publishing and merchandising. The deal continues a trend towards an integrated relationship in the entertainment business that will provide a multi-platform approach to the respective elements of recording, live work, film and television.
