Lawyers for Creative Arts Honors Pro Bono Program

| 12 September 2003, Chicago - Lawyers for the Creative Arts (LCA) is honoring Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP's pro bono program and its director Marc Kadish for the firm's pro bono legal services to the arts - the first such award to a law firm by the group.
"Under Marc's leadership, Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP lawyers have significantly contributed to providing legal expertise to artists and art organizations in Chicago who couldn't afford legal help," said LCA Executive Director William Rattner.
The firm has recently represented the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum and is working with LCA on a number of intellectual property matters.
LCA's annual awards luncheon is October 16th at the Palmer House. Other honorees at the event include: Tony Jones, CBE, President of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; Jeff McClusky, independent radio music promoter; Jackie Taylor and Black Ensemble Theater; and Linda S. Mensch.
LCA is a not-for-profit organization that provides pro bono legal services to individuals and organizations in the arts including the visual, literary, and performing arts, and provides educational programs as well. Since its inception in 1972, LCA has provided legal services and educational programs to tens of thousands of artists and cultural organizations, including many who are now among the most prominent in the area. LCA assists in such areas as forming legal entities, real estate, protecting intellectual property, licensing, and other contracts.
