John M. Touhy is a partner in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office, where he is a member of the Firm’s Sports, Entertainment and Media Law practice group. His practice also includes commercial and complex litigation and class action defense. He has represented The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) and its Chicago TV-station, WMAQ-TV, in a number of matters including defamation, First Amendment restraints, broadcasting rights, invasion of privacy and commercial disputes. Mr. Touhy has also represented professional athletes, a Grammy award winning musician, a Pulitzer prize winning author as well as other best selling authors, and rock stars in a wide variety of commercial and intellectual property disputes. Mr. Touhy frequently represents Fortune 500 companies in commercial and complex litigation. Mr. Touhy received his BA with Honors and Special Honors from the University of Chicago and his JD from New Yok University School of Law.
