Experience
Jean-Philippe serves on Mayer Brown's Management Committee and is the Partner-in-Charge of our Paris office. He has considerable experience in real estate and leveraged finance. His practice includes advising commercial and investment banks on the purchase and disposal of large hotel and office portfolios and leveraged and management buy-outs. Jean-Philippe regularly advises investment funds and arrangers in relation to the financing of large domestic and cross border leveraged acquisitions.
Jean-Philippe joined Mayer Brown in 2001 when his firm, Lambert & Lee, merged with Mayer Brown. Before forming Lambert & Lee in 1996, he had worked for three major international law firms. He is fluent in English as well as his native French.
Notable Engagements
- Advised Lehman Brothers in connection with the financing of the €1,200,000,000 acquisition of a real estate portfolio comprising office buildings in Paris and suburbs.
- Advised Lehman Brothers in connection with the financing of the outstanding €2,110,000,000 acquisition of a real estate property comprising office buildings in Paris-La Défense business centre.
- Advised Sloane Capital in connection with the acquisition of a real estate property comprising office and shopping buildings in the prestigious Place Vendôme in Paris.
- Advised Natixis and RBS in connection with the financing of the acquisition of a € 540,000,000 real estate portfolio of hospitals.
- Advised LBO France in connection with the € 1,150,000,000 acquisition of CEGELEC, an interntional technological services group.
- Assisted LBO France in connection with the € 2,070,000,000 leveraged acquisition of Materis by Wendel Investissement. Rothschild & Cie acted as financial adviser to LBO France and BNP Paribas provided the senior debt financing.
- Represented Eurazeo in connection with the € 1,800,000,000 financing from BNP Paribas with respect to the acquisition of the Ellis group.
