Experience
Cindy Au is a partner in the Hong Kong office of Mayer Brown JSM. She advises clients on all aspects of property conveyancing, including the sale and purchase, tenancy, and mortgage financing of residential, office and commercial premises. She deals with property development projects in all aspects, such as planning for sale, advising on matters in the land grants, applying for pre-sale consent, and handling the sale, purchase and mortgaging of units in residential development projects. In addition, she represents banks and financial institutions in property-related financing, including building mortgages, as well as in other secured and unsecured lending transactions.
In the area of real estate transactions, Cindy also advises developers on the project sale of residential developments, and counsels quasi-government bodies on subsidized housing projects and loan strategies. Her other transactional work includes sales and purchases of mortgage loan portfolios, including sales by way of both transfer and participation.
Cindy is fluent in English in addition to Chinese.
Notable Engagements
- Advising Hong Kong Housing Authority in one of the pilot estates under the Divestment scheme, including reviewing/preparing the land grant and deed of mutual covenants to facilitate the transfer to The Link of title to the shopping malls and car-parking facilities.
- Advising Hong Kong Housing Society in the sale of residential flats under subsidised housing schemes and in the grant of loans under both subsidised and renovation loan schemes.
- Acted for Wayfoong Finance/Credit Limited in the transfer of its residential mortgage loan portfolio to HSBC in the Integration exercise.
