Thomas Eldert is a partner in the Washington DC office of Mayer Brown's Global Projects practice. Tom’s practice focuses on the representation of lenders, borrowers, contractors and government entities in all aspects of project development and finance transactions, as well as representation of political risk insurers in both transactional and claims resolution matters.
He has represented domestic and international clients in transactions in a variety of industries, including power, pipelines, hotels, ports, manufacturing and retail in jurisdictions including Turkey, China, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Japan, Bolivia, Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, the Dominican Republic, Qatar, Thailand, Vietnam and the US.
Tom has experience representing governmental entities and multilateral organizations in connection with project finance and development matters, including Export-Import Bank of the United States and Overseas Private Investment Corporation. Tom also has significant experience in renewable energy projects, including those eligible for the US Department of Energy Loan Guarantee Program.
