Scott Davis is a corporate lawyer who has had a role in a number of significant mergers and acquisitions. Scott was recognized in Chambers Global (2013), which noted that sources "praise him for his 'superb professional judgement.'" He was also recognized in Chambers USA (2013), which stated that sources are "quick to laud him as a 'lawyer's lawyer,' and he receives further praise for his 'depth of knowledge of the field.'"

Scott is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago Law School and an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. From 1989 to 2013, he was a member of the Chicago Police Board, an agency appointed by the Mayor of Chicago to decide misconduct cases brought against Chicago police officers and to select candidates for Superintendent of Police when there is a vacancy in that office. He was Vice President of the Police Board from 1996 to 2013.
Scott has been a lawyer at Mayer Brown since 1977 and a partner since 1983. He joined the firm after serving as a law clerk to The Honorable Luther M. Swygert of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
