Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Phillip spent a year with the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, where he litigated civil rights cases on behalf of traditionally disenfranchised groups. Before attending law school, Phillip spent several years working in politics, including managing political campaigns at both the state and federal level and serving as a legislative aide in the Texas House of Representatives.
