Overview

Jack Edelbrock represents commercial banks, insurance companies and pension funds in negotiating acquisition, construction and permanent financing for real estate projects, with a concentration on multi-site, multi-state financings.  When necessary, he also assists clients with the negotiation of loan workouts and restructurings.

Jack also has an active real estate transactional practice in which he represents industrial clients in all aspects of the acquisition, disposition and operation of their real estate.  He also advises and works on behalf of real estate developers in the development and bulk sale of property. Jack is also actively involved in the development of alternative energy projects, particularly the development of electric power wind farms.

With the exception of briefly practicing at a Colorado firm in 1995, Jack has been with Mayer Brown since his law school graduation in 1989.  During law school, he was active in the technology industry, working for four years as a database systems consultant.  Prior to that, he worked for nine years as an economist and systems analyst for Chicago-based Planmetrics, Inc., a pioneer in the development of computer-based financial and econometric simulation models, primarily for the public utility industry.  He was also an economics instructor for two years at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.   Jack’s language competencies include German.
