Dr. Marco Wilhelm is a partner in the Frankfurt office of Mayer Brown's corporate practice. His practice focuses on bankruptcies, insolvencies and restructuring law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate matters and general commercial and trade law. Marco is the head of the German bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring group.
He has extensive experience in representing and advising companies, banks, financial investors, insolvency administrators as well as public authorities. Marco is the author of several articles and essays on themes relating to insolvency, restructuring, corporate and commercial law. Marco regularly speaks on these matters, e.g. for the Fortbildungs- und Service GmbH, a vocational training entity for attorneys which is associated with the bar association Frankfurt am Main.
Prior to joining the Frankfurt office of Mayer Brown and subsequently to his degree in business administration, Marco worked several years for the utility company STEAG AG in Essen exercising various business administration responsibilities. After studying law in Bochum he worked initially for an other international law firm in its Düsseldorf and Frankfurt office for several years. He is a native German speaker and is fluent in English.
