On Thursday, October 11, 2007, for the first time in its history, Mayer Brown’s New York Office hosted an Alumni Reception to reunite all of the remarkable attorneys who have contributed to the development of our office. One of the many testaments to the quality of our attorneys is the strength of the relationships that endure even when those attorneys leave the New York Office to pursue other opportunities. The Alumni Reception was a great success. Approximately 150 alumni from six different countries attended. Notably, we have alumni who are now located all around the world, including Japan, Korea, China, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Canada, Vietnam, Mexico, Israel, Tanzania, Serbia & Montenegro, Switzerland, Ireland and Germany. Of our NYO alumni, approximately 48% continue to practice at law firms, 40% are at corporations or banks, 5% work for public interest groups, the government or at universities, and the remainder are in a variety of fields.
