3 February 2009 – Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, has been named the Law Firm of the Year in the private equity sector by Private Equity Magazine, which reports on the French capital investment industry. The award was determined by a jury comprising representatives of private equity firms and partners from law firms active in the private equity market. Mayer Brown also won in 2006.
“We are very proud and honored to receive this recognition, especially in today’s challenging economic environment,” said Xavier Jaspar, who co-heads the Private Equity practice in Mayer Brown’s Paris office. “The trust-based relationships we have built over the years with our clients enabled us to act on several key deals last year and to remain equally active in the small and mid-cap sector.”
The Mergers & Acquisitions/Private Equity practice at Mayer Brown/Paris has four teams: Corporate, led by Jaspar and Guillaume Kuperfils, with four partners and 25 associates; Finance, led by Jean-Philippe Lambert and Jean-Pierre Lee, with three partners and 11 associates; Structuring/Tax, led by Laurent Borey and Benjamin Homo, with four partners and 11 associates, and Management Package, led by Alexis Dargent, with two partners and seven associates.
